Hey curvy girls all over the world,
It’s officially tights season and most of you know that I don’t like wearing them. I try to hold out until the weather hits 50 degrees before I slip on any kind of tights. However, this year I am embracing tights. One of the reasons I haven’t always been a fan of tights is because its hard to find a comfortable pair. The waistband can be uncomfortable and some tights have a rough scratchy feel to them. So, when I put them on, best believe its because I have to. This year, that’s all changed. I found the most perfect pair of tights for us curvy girls and here’s how I’m rocking them.
Tights JMS, Dress:Tocca for GB, Boots: Aldo, Bag: Tory Burch, Bracelet: NY & CO
It was a little chilly here in NYC last week, It made for the perfect time to slip on JMS blackout tights. The most comfy pair of tights ever. I chose to rock them with a feather print dress and a crop leather jacket. I wanted to create a contrasting look, so I paired the JMS blackout tights with a pair of suede camel colored ankle boots.
JMS has made me a believer with their blackout tights. These tights are opaque deep dark black, just the way I like my eyeliner. They also have a silky feel and the waistband is comfy. There were times when I forgot I even had tights on. All tights have stretch in them but sometimes that stretch can feel a little restrictive. Let’s just say JMS blackout tights eliminates that problem. They have lustrous knit stretch that allows you to move around comfortable. I could totally do yoga in these with no problem.
One of the greatest things about opaque tights is that they make your legs look longer and slimmer. If you have a skirt or dress that’s too short to wear with bare legs, opaque tights are perfect to pair it with. I truly love these JMS tights. They’re just so darn comfortable. I could lounge around my house all day in them.
You can find JMS blackout tights at your local Walmart. They come in plus sizes 1X-4X and they’re priced under $10. The price is truly a steal because the quality of them is worth so much more. I say stock up on them if you can.

Hmm. I used to wear their regular opaque tights back in the day when there weren’t any other options, but they didn’t hold up well to washing. However, I’m willing to give anything that says “super opaque” a try….
If you haven’t, try the tights from Catherine’s – the non-control-top ones. They hold up at least through a season of less-than-careful handling and they’re super soft. The control top ones suck, though…it’s like chub rub galore + epic muffin top. Sizing wise, if you’re on the fence, size up (that’s my rule for all tights, though).
