Can we just say that 2019 is the year of Lizzo? Within the 6 months Lizzo has worked her way to a bonafide superstar. With a hit album and show stealing performances (Did ya’ll see her BET performance, playing the flute while twerking?) Lizzo has been making some extraordinary strides in the music industry. In the latest Lizzo news, our girl has snagged a huge beauty campaign with Urban Decay Cosmetics. They named her one of their Global Citizens. The “Pretty Different” campaign features Lizzo, Ezra Miller, Joey King, Karol G, and CL.
Lizzo is the perfect choice for a beauty campaign like this. She has been breaking stereotypes and pushing boundaries with her talent and beauty. When asked about why they chose these 5 stars to be UD Global Citizens, here’s what Urban Decay had to say,
“To embody the vision that beauty is not about standards, Urban Decay has partnered with five individuals who are Pretty Different. They are unique, they are powerful, they are inspiring, they push boundaries. THEY ARE THE UD GLOBAL CITIZENS.”
Often times we don’t get to see plus size women in beauty campaigns. Thanks to Jordan Tesfay and Queen Latifah for opening those doors and making a way for Ashley Graham, and now Lizzo. Urban Decay has released a video featuring all of the Global Citizens. Check it out below.
Lizzo was beyond excited about the new opportunity and had this to say on her Instagram page, “Baby’s first makeup campaign-I’m #PrettyDifferent I love my wide face, high cheekbones, and double chin.”
We can’t wait to see what Lizzo does next. However, we do have a few predictions. Maybe there’s a lingerie, swim, or clothing line next. We sure hope so.
